John Laing's Africa Challenge - Successfully
Completed : US12 000 raised for the College
On October 15th 2006, John Laing, a Falcon Old Boy, departed London in a Landrover. Destination - Falcon College in Zimbabwe. John is driving down the length of Africa, at his own expense, in a journey expected to last three months.
John's landrover had a blow out and rolled roller over in the Sudan. The cab was badly damaged. Fortunately John and his father, Andy did not sustain serious injuries apart from "two broken ribs, a dislocated shoulder, a couple grazes and a bruised ego". This mishap did not deter neither John nor his father. Makeshift repairs were done to the landrover and the Africa challenge continued. Andy, who had originally planned to go as far as Nairobi, Kenya, and then fly back home decided to go the whole way down Africa.
John and Andy arrived in Zimbabwe just in time for Christmas.
John was on a fundraising mission for Falcon College and US $12 000 was raised.
