First Taita Falcon to be
hatched in Captivity Our first Taita Falcon chick has hatched. This is a first for quite some time and we hope that the rest of the clutch will follow soon. These are extremely rare Falcons and we are delighted at our success. The last one to breed was six years ago.
The Taita chick sits comfortably and seems to be contemplating the future ahead. The chick was hatched recently at the Falconry Club nests.
Quiet Water Celebrates its 20th Anniversary
Left: William Randle, Course Leader and Coordinator, seems to be saying "This is how it is done my boy....." to young Nyasha Magurah during the Adventure Course. The Form 2 boys were engaged in a wide variety of exercises. These included: Life Saving Skills, Wall Climbing, Leadership and Initiative Circuit of 11 km with six mystery tasks (involving ropes, cantilevers, repairs etc), orienteering, Bush Quiz, Log Race and Raft Race. The Pairs Night Out remains a highlight. Here, boys
spend the night out in pairs in Quiet Waters without lights, fire or time
pieces. The course is run on an informal competitive basis and this year Tredgold Form 2's came out on top. Right: A group of Form 2 boys tackling the rope at Quiet Waters.
