Interhouse Fishing Competition (First leg) - at Pezulu Ranch

On Sunday 25th March 31 members of the Falcon Angling Society converged on Pezulu Ranch near Shangani last Sunday (25th March) to take part in the first leg of the 2007 inter-house fishing competition. Unfortunately a hippopotamus which had moved into Mambo Dam forced a change in venue to the nearby Fern Creek Dam.

Mr. Jimmy Goddard (Tredgold 1979), the ranch owner, kindly arranged for six rowing boats to be available - one for each house team. It was a very hot day and due to delayed start to the competition no large fish were landed.

The largest Bass (0,5 kg) was landed by Ward MD while Connear CB caught a 1,10 kg Barbel – both fisherman were members of the Oates House team.

On behalf of the participants a very sincere vote of thanks must go to Jimmy Goddard, Mr & Mrs van der Riet’s (parents of Johan Headboy 2003) and Mike Broomberg  for their kind hospitality.

The second leg of the inter-house competition will be held during the third term of this year
