Falcon to Acquire Smart Boards - Setting the Standards in Classroom Technology

Falcon College is poised to become the first school (if not the first institution) in Zimbabwe to be equipped with the state-of-the-art Smart Boards.  A Smart Board is an interactive electronic board that is fast replacing the chalkboard and the white board. When connected to a computer and illuminated by a video projector, the Smart Board springs into life and becomes a huge interactive touch pad. Falcon college is keenly awaiting delivery of two Smart Boards and two video projectors in this initial phase of updating our classrooms with new technologies.

The Smart Board shown here is a small one suitable for small classes and was brought up for the demonstration.  The Smart Boards ordered by the College are much bigger.

Interprovincial Hockey Tournament at Falcon

The 9th-11th June weekend promises to be very busy as we will be hosting the Interprovincial Hockey tournament and entertaining Lomagundi College 1st and 2nd XI Soccer teams as well as the U16A, 2nd XV and 1st XV Rugby teams.

The Interprovincial Hockey tournament is to be held on Friday 10th and Saturday 11th June.  Eight provincial teams are expected to participate.  They will be playing in two packs of four. The Zimbabwe U17A and B teams will be announced at the end of the tournament.

Falcon College has eleven players in the Matabeleland sides: Thomas Randell, Jack Randell, Gareth Bint, Peter Trethowan, Rob de Vries, Tapiwa Zindoga, Brett Gait and Grant Reid, Fraser Locke and Dirk Zietsman.

We expect an influx of 200 extra players and their accompanying staff.  We are also expecting a large turnout of supporters and parents during the weekend.
