Halo Around The Sun on Speech and Prize Giving Day
Staff, guests and students streaming out of the Turner Hall after the Speech and Prize Giving Ceremony were intrigued by a luminous ring round the Sun. The spectacular ring is called a halo and is often observed round the Moon.

A halo is formed by the reflection and refraction of light by ice crystals in the atmosphere.  Refraction is the bending of light.  Cloud conditions in the atmosphere were ideal for the formation of a halo.

Falcon to remain a Boys Only School - No Girls will be admitted
The long-awaited decision has finally been made.  Falcon College will not become co-educational after all. The decision was announced by the Chairman of the Board of Governors, Mr. Andy Laing at the 55th Annual Speech and Prize Giving Ceremony.

In his address Mr. Laing said that the issue had been discussed in depth at the last Board meeting, and "the unanimous decision was that Falcon should focus on what it does best, that is to continue striving to maintain and improve a world class boarding school for boys, without dilution of effort".

Accordingly the decision has been made not to admit girls to Falcon.
