HEADMASTER’S WEEKLY NEWSLETTER
Dear Parents
I cannot really believe it, but we are at the end of Week 2. The rain continues, which is wonderful, but a bit disruptive. Our first Cricket fixtures have suffered as a result, with the exception of the U15 side which managed to win in double quick time.
SPORTS’ RESULTS:
The Basketball 1st team played CBC and lost.
The Water Polo side also played CBC and won 11-6.
The Tennis teams played in Bulawayo and the following results were achieved:
2nd Team vs. Girls College 6 – 2 Falcon College
U16 vs. Plumtree 10 – 1 Falcon College
Swimming: The following boys have been selected to swim for Matabeleland: Keith Wale, Marius Marais, Graham Riley, Keith Riley, Seamus McGovern, Dirk Zietsman.
GIRLS SCHOOL:
There are many rumours presently around Bulawayo, so here are the facts. There is a group of people who are talking to the Board Chairman about the establishment of a girls’ school at Falcon. The ideas presently being thrown around are that a campus for girls could be established on Falcon land. If anyone has ideas, feelings or thoughts, they should not hesitate to contact our Chairman. We have always said that the door is not closed in this area. We would also do our best and are aware that the ethos of Falcon is special and we would not want that to change.
BUSES:
We have a mini bus at the border waiting for clearance, which we hope will be here very soon. We have purchased another one, which should also be on its way soon from Durban.
COMPUTERS:
We have had the Old Boys give us 25 more computers which will shortly be brought into the country.
MUSIC:
Our new Music teacher arrives in the middle of February. We are very excited about this development, as we have been without one for 2 years. He is Mr. Billy St. John from Australia.
EXAM RESULTS:
The exam results for the November 2005 examinations have just been released.
SECOND TERM:
Please note that the second term starts on SUNDAY 7TH MAY 2006 and NOT in April, as previously advised. There have also been changes to the Calendar, which we circulated to you all via the email. If you did not get this, please let my secretary know, either via the fax, the phone or email on: Head@falconcollege.com
Have a good weekend
