Be the boss of your own show

Always be a closer – finish well – good try isn’t good enough.

Embrace Marketing – sell the place every minute of every day.

Pursue mastery – to survive this Tsunami you need to be very special at something – you need to exhibit True Master.

Thrive on Ambiguity – Yet in a world where the very categories of thought and action are constantly slipping and sliding, even mastery will not suffice. We have to be able to do a dozen things at once and change course without raising a bead of sweat or shred or remorse.

Don’t dwell on mistakes or shortcomings – just be bold and get on with it.

Nurture your network – loyalty is more important than ever – what matters is what your peers think of your work – expand your network. Let’s keep together – there is so much help right here – use it. We need to be together.

Relish Technology – you don’t have to be a boffin, but you must realize that it will be bringing into your classroom more information, more exposure and knowledge, whether you like it or not. An 11 year old told me about a topic I thought I knew quite a lot about – all off the internet.

The young have much to teach us – we must include them and hear their views, but then question and guide and say NO.

Cultivate a passion for renewal – these bold times demand that we develop new ideas and think outside the box all of the time.
