Falcon shines at Prince Edward Cottco Rugby Festival

This Rugby festival is probably the biggest schoolboy and may even be the biggest rugby festival in the world with 72 teams taking part this year. All of the teams are from within Zimbabwe.

Falcon played Prince Edward first up and the game proved to be the game of the festival. It is not easy playing Prince Edward at Prince Edward on their Jubilee Field. Our team played with passion and in the first half PE managed about 30 seconds in our half. We were unlucky not to have scored at least three times, but poor passing let us down. The half time score was 3 - 0 to us from a Steve Trenchard penalty. After half time, from the kick off we did not field the ball and the PE wing caught the ball and scored far out. They missed the conversion.

The second half saw PE come back at us a little, but still we dominated and were rewarded for our efforts with another penalty which Loyd Turner kicked. The score remained 6 - 5 until the end. The boys were carried off the pitch by well wishers as Prince Edward have dominated for so long.

The second game was against Lomagundi College a good side who again we dominated but did not swamp as a result of poor passing. Dylan Williams the Head of School scored a fine solo effort try when he chipped ahead and collected his own kick. Steve Trenchard kickrd very well out of hand. We won the game 11 - 3.

The third game was against Watershed College and we completely dominated to win 43 - 0 and were able to play all our players.

This has set the season up well and we look forward to the first game of the season against Milton on Saturday at Milton in Bulawayo.
