| Headmaster's Vision for Falcon |
1. I believe that there is a real need to tackle the Bullying, Pastoral
care, service by boys area of the College. I believe that the Astra
programme is going some way towards this, but we have major thuggish
behaviour/issues which need to be addressed, preferably without changing
the whole system and affecting the DNA.
2. Introduction of subjects that could help ensure that students of all abilities attain a full set of 'O' levels and 'A' levels - Religious education at 'O' level and Thinking Skills at 'A' level.
3. Develop and upgrade the Design Technology, Art, Computer facilities to first world standards.
4. Refurbish the Boarding facilities so that all have the same standard of accommodation - Forms 3 and 4 and then studies up to the top of the House.
5. Things like kitchenettes, fridges, etc. for senior boys is a good idea.
6. Develop Quiet Waters to a point where it becomes a sought-after facility for other schools and organizations to use and want to be part of.
7. Upgrade our kitchen facilities to make sure that we can provide any meal - chip fryers, ovens, butchery facilities, cold counters, etc.
8. Mechanise, as far as possible, the Estate - weedeaters, sit-on lawn mowers, etc. This would include paving around the College to make maintenance as low as possible. Lighting around the campus and benches, etc. would all fall into this area. Upgrade the fields with extra water from the sewage, and create a fish farm.
9. Upgrade all staff housing, kitchens and bathrooms to an acceptable standard.
10. Develop an exchange programme that would see our staff and pupils exchanging ideas and views with others in other parts of the world, both in South Africa and overseas.
11. Strive for meaningful assessment of staff - which would allow follow up, self assessment and meaningful professional development.
