Headmaster's Weekly Bulletin: 13 November 2008

WEEK TEN OF THIRD TERM 2008

Dear Parents

For the most part, the external and internal exams are now over and seem to have gone well.

We have had a couple of rain showers, which have made all the difference. On Wednesday we received 38 mls.

Sadly, we have also had several quite long power outages which have been disruptive to our communications, but not insurmountable.

We have also had a scare over a couple of very ill boys. They have been seen by a Doctor in Bulawayo and it is a virus and nothing more. They have all been treated and are on the mend.

FEES:
Please could everyone note that boys will be coming home with their statements this weekend. Those boys who do not come home will have their statement sent out by email.
We require ALL outstanding fees to be paid on a boy’s return. We will not allow boys back unless they have the fee. Please understand our stance. We have staff salaries, Servcor fees and various bills to pay before the end of term and we need all the outstanding fees in, in order to do that.
If there are queries on your bill, please do communicate before the children come back after the weekend. It will avoid any embarrassment or ill feeling.

LEAVING EARLY:
I once again must make it clear that ALL boys are expected to remain at School until Tuesday 2nd December. They are free to go after the Forms One, Two and Three Consultations. Please make every effort to get here for this. It is a valuable opportunity for you to meet the staff on a one-to-one basis and to get direct feedback on how your son is doing.

SCHOOL SHOP:
Please note the shop will be open on Tuesday 18th November, after Fixture Free, between 1.30 and 2.30 p.m.

SPORT:
The Senior Basketball Interhouse competition has taken place and the results are as follows:

1st Tredgold
2nd Chubb
3rd Hervey
4th Founders
5th Oates
6th George Grey

Enjoy your weekend with your sons.

You have not lived a perfect day, even though you have earned your money, unless you have done something for someone who will never be able to repay you.
