Headmaster's newsletter, 26 June 2009 |
On speaking to several parents, it appears there are still some who are not getting our Newsletter. If you know of anyone who does not get the weekly Newsletter, please contact us on their behalf in order that we may rectify the situation.
I feel that it would be useful for parents to know who
their son's House Tutor is, as we often have parents asking for this
information. This IS NOT a move to isolate the Housemaster. All correspondence
to the Tutor must be copied to the Housemaster. There are also parents
who are making direct contact with the prefects - please, you must
go through the Housemaster and he MUST be kept in the picture all
the time.
The list of the Tutors in the Houses is as follows:

SPORTS' RESULTS:
It was interesting to note that all our junior Rugby sides lost to
St. George's and the senior sides, 1st to 3rd, all won. The year of
2004, which is now this year's senior side age group, have never beaten
St. George's until they reached the senior age group. This is an interesting
statistic. They won as 2nd team players last year and as 1st team
players this year.

Some possible questions answered:
1. When do we get to know the results? - you don't get actual results,
but you will be informed on 24 July whether your son has been accepted
or not. PLEASE DO NOT PHONE THE SCHOOL BEFORE THEN. In the acceptance
process, due consideration is given to siblings and sons of Falcon
Old Boys, as well as confidential reports from junior schools and
of course, the results from the entrance exams.
2. What is the acceptance fee? - if you have been offered a place
and you accept it, a non-refundable deposit needs to be paid to the
College to secure your place.
3. What happens next? - boys will be allocated Houses (a number of
criteria are used in this process and unfortunately not everyone can
go the House of their choice) and information regarding this, laundry
numbers and clothing lists will be made available to you in August.
AGAIN, PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT THE COLLEGE UNNECESSARILY.

enough to believe the best is yet to come.
