Headmaster's newsletter, 10 July 2009

Mid-year exams have started and we have implemented extra prep sessions in the afternoons to get total focus on academics, during this exam period.

We have also had a blitz on cleanliness in all areas of the College. Our boys need to appreciate that their living space is their responsibility. The cleaners have been spoken to and all the staff have been challenged to make a difference in this area. It is an important part of communal living.

Our Entrance Exams attracted more candidates at most centres than were registered and initial impressions are that there are some very good candidates. We will make our final selections on 24 July and will notify parents on the same day.

T. Rowe has represented Zimbabwe U16 at Squash. He played in a tournament in South Africa and Zimbabwe came 4th out of 8 teams.

The five Rugby U14 boys have returned from their Craven Week and found the going very tough. They did not manage to win a game, but learnt a great deal from the experience.

The Zimbabwe U19 Rugby team leaves for Craven Week this weekend. I will be travelling with the team, so will be out of the office this coming week.

EXAM FEES:
Please note - that there are still several boys whose exam fees have not been paid. Your sons will not be entered without full payment being made.

MEDICAL AID DETAILS: P L E A S E - could I ask ALL parents to submit their son's 'Medical Aid' details, as asked for some weeks ago. It is vital that we get an upgrade of this information.
