Headmaster's newsletter, 24 July 2009 |
It is good to be back after a hectic Craven Week in East London where the Zimbabwe U18 Rugby boys did really well and received many accolades, not only for their play, but the way in which they conducted themselves.
Sadly, I have had to ask a senior boy to leave the College because of his repeated poor behaviour and for having pornography on his phone. Pornography is against the law in our country and something that will not be tolerated at school. Please do speak to your children about this issue.
Our National U19 Hockey players played in the Men's
Interprovincial in Harare at the weekend and got to the semi-final
of that tournament.
All Hockey teams played against Petra on Thursday 23 July, winning
by comfortable margins. The results were:
| 1st XI | Falcon won 6-1 |
| 2nd XI | Falcon won 7-0 |
| 16A | Falcon won 6-1 |
| 15A | Falcon won 3-1 |
| 14A | Falcon won 4-0 |
This weekend's games against Peterhouse are always very fiercely contested,
with the Senior Boys up at Peterhouse and the juniors at home. Matches
are as in the Calendar, the only exception being the 1st team Rugby,
which will be at 3.00 p.m. and not 4.00 p.m. as we have had in the
past.
Please would all parents note that School closes on Tuesday 4th August, with Consultation Day for Forms 4, 5, L6 and U6. Please do not ask to end school earlier.
We all need to note that school opens on SUNDAY 30TH AUGUST and all boys are expected to be in by 12.30. Late arrivals are very inconvenient for our Housemasters and Accounts staff. Please keep to these timings.
Have a good week.
