Headmaster's newletter, third term, week six

We had a good weekend of Cricket against Peterhouse, with games played with great vigour, and wonderful sportsmanship was shown on both sides. I mention two incidents – one in the first team game when a ball was edged by a Peterhouse batsman and taken very low down in the slips On appeal, our slip fielder showed that the ball had, in fact, been grounded. In the U16 game, one of our batsmen got fifty and almost all of the Peterhouse boys, between overs, went across and shook his hand. This is exactly the sort of behaviour we should all be encouraging. Sadly, this is not always the case with other schools we play.

This last week, 3 boys, namely Gareth Bint, Jason Wicks and Michael MacIntosh, did a great job in putting out a fire that started in the Laundry, when an iron was left on over lunch. Their quick and decisive action probably saved that facility and we salute them.
