| Headmaster's newsletter, week nine of first term 2010 |
This last week, I suspended a boy for physically bashing one of his peers who had threatened to report him for cheating in a test.
This kind of thing is deplorable and I have made this clear to the School. We will not tolerate thuggery and the system will expose it. We will not hide behind any kind of system that will protect young people who cannot behave properly. Even association with this kind of behaviour is unacceptable.
It is also very damaging to the College and I will not let a few boys ruin our reputation.
Athletics started in earnest this week with a meeting at Umzingwane High on Monday and another one here on Wednesday. These are cluster meetings towards provincial selection. Our boys have done really well and it is good exposure for them.
Our Relays' meeting, which was postponed from last Saturday, will take place next Wednesday afternoon, 17th March. It will be a reduced programme, but it is always a fun event, with maximum boy participation, because it is a team/relay event. It will start at 1.30 p.m.
QUIET WATERS' BOOKINGS:
We will honour bookings already made, but we are not taking any bookings
until further notice. The camp should be available from the start
of next term and the facility now has an extra boma area, as a result
of the Quest boys staying there.
I will be up in Harare today for our Golf Day at Royal Harare, and look forward to seeing as many parents there as possible. It should be an outstanding occasion, so please support it.
Our second mark order is out and I urge parents to ask their children to see their mark order sheets. It is vital that we get your full support in driving your child's academic studies.
