Thank you all so much for your wonderful support of
Founders' Day. It really was a lovely occasion, appreciated by the
boys and staff alike. A real carnival atmosphere prevailed and it
bonded the Falcon family greatly. The weather played its part and
the competition was fierce, as it always should be - congratulations
to Tredgold on their victory.

| 6th | Hervey | 924 |

We also won the Interschools' Athletics on Wednesday. It is quite
some time since we won both the relays and the individual competition.

Our boys have dominated Athletics this season and I would like to compliment Mr. I. Museba for his input into the team. Several boys will compete in Kwe Kwe at the National Interprovincial for U20 and U16 boys and girls.
SOUTH AFRICAN INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS' RUGBY FESTIVAL:
Falcon will be hosting this event from the 17th to 22nd June 2010.
Whilst it is the half-term break, we would like you to diarise the
event and hopefully you will be able to support us. We have 9 South
African and 3 Zimbabwe Schools participating. If any parent would
like to assist us through sponsorship of an aspect of the Tournament,
or advertise in the programme, we would be delighted to hear from
you soonest at falhead@mweb.co.zw.
INTERSCHOOLS' GOLF:
This was held on Sunday in Bulawayo and hosted by Falcon. Special
thanks must go to:
Mr. O.M. Dube for sponsorship of the shields and assisting with tee-off
in the medal section:
Mr. & Mrs. P.M. Kersten for sponsorship of a variety of prizes
(towels, golf balls, tees, caps, etc.) They also helped in running
the table and the general administration of the tournament, including
doing the board (Mr P. Kersten) and handing out prizes (Mrs. F. Kersten).
We would also like to thank them for their unwavering support of Falcon
junior golf.
Mrs. Julie Drazdik is also thanked for assisting in running the table
and a number of administration tasks during the tournament.
INTERHOUSE FISHING:
The first round of the Interhouse Fishing competition was held at
High Acres Dam. Results are as follows:
| 3rd | Tredgold |
| 2nd | George Grey |
| 1st | Oates |
The second leg of the competition will take place during the third term.
SPORT DURING THE HOLIDAYS:
Many of our teams are going on tour during these coming holidays.
The Hockey team is playing in the St. Stithians' Easter Festival in
Johannesburg, Soccer at the International Schools' Festival in Mafeking
and Basketball in a Schools' Festival in Durban. The Rugby boys will
play at Cottco in the final week of the holidays.
QUEST AFRICA:
This course has been running now for 7 weeks and is proving to be
very successful. The young men on the course are enjoying the experience,
but exhausted as a result of how much they have to fit in to each
day The first phase of their campus is now complete and it really
is a shining addition to Falcon. Places are filling up quickly for
next year and if you are thinking of it, you should book your son
in immediately. We will have an "Open Day" in the future
for parents to actually see the facility for themselves.
"We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence,
then, is not an act, but a habit".
