Headmaster's newsletter, week nine of third term

It was wonderful to see so many of you at the Gala and the various dinners. Your sons really do appreciate having you at the College on these occasions.

Sadly, we have had another incident where a Lower 6th boy has made the lives of some junior boys miserable. This is a totally unacceptable practice and will not be tolerated. I am incredibly grateful to the boys and the staff who exposed this kind of behaviour. With excellent communication in place, we can make Falcon a happier place, which is what we continue to strive for. We are not changing the system – just reinforcing the channels of communication to expose wrong doers who are hiding behind this false perception ‘that because it happened to me, it should happen to them’, and no-one has the right to ‘tell’.

COMPUTERS:
An interesting thought came out this week when I was speaking to a person in business. He said ‘I no longer ask people for their CV’s when they are looking for employment. I simply look at their ‘face book’ page. This reveals who the people are and what they stand for.

Please, I ask all parents to make sure that if your child has access to the internet, that they use it with caution. They must think before commenting on any particular topic or person. It really could come back to haunt them.

HEADMASTER’S VISITS FOR PROSPECTIVE PARENTS:
The Falcon Marketing team and I are visiting Victoria Falls on Friday 12 November. We will be doing a presentation at Victoria Falls Primary School at 6.00 p.m. All prospective parents are welcome.

We will also be in Harare at The Leareds home, No. 12 Selousville Close, Chisipite, on Tuesday 16 November at 6.00 p.m. This is also for prospective parents for 2012/2013.

We really would like to see you, or any or your colleagues, at these presentations – everyone is welcome.
