form one adventure course 2011 Form One Adventure Course 2011

The annual Form One Adventure Course, run by Mr. Will Randle, was held last week in and around the College Estate. Very simply it involved all the Form Ones participating in a series of exercises, designed to take them out of their comfort zone with the emphasis on developing dorm (team) spirit, having fun and testing their own individual abilities. The exercises ranged from bush cooking, to first aid, to knots, to orienteering and tracking, to ropes, to mention but a few. Two nights out, in Quiet Waters, (in house groups) is always a challenge to those who have not experienced the bush, particularly as they had to cook their own suppers and breakfasts! It was a tired, but generally happy, bunch who reluctantly returned to the classroom 2 days later. View the pictures...

falcon college chapel new alter cloth Falcon gets new hymn books and alter cloth

"The college recently took possession of a set of 450 new hymn books for the chapel replacing the well used and now worn out books bought back in 1994. The new books are a hardback and much expanded version of our old Mission Praise books and should give us a much expanded repertoire of singing. They were funded in part by a donation from St Mary’s Church, Upton, UK, the church formerly attended by chapel organiser, Richard Harrison. We thank them for their generous gift."

Our new Altar cloth which as you can see from the pictures is spectacular was made by Mrs Norma Heymans. We are incredibly grateful to her for what she has done- it really does make for a very "Falcon" Chapel.View the photos...
