The Academic Department

THE ENGLISH DEPARTMENT

Every boy in the school studies English, writing the English 'O' level exam in form four, and then some boys continue, by choice, on to ‘A' level.
The Department's principal aim is to ensure that every boy attains the required level of literacy and literary knowledge necessary to secure passes in the ‘O' level Language and Literature exams, and in the ‘A' level exams.

The College Library is well-stocked and the boys are actively encouraged to use its many resources, while the Department stockroom contains an enormous variety of suitable texts, and these are regularly reviewed with the purpose of upgrading and modernising reading materials.
